When Sandra U. Lass was in college, her roommate's father and three brothers were all State Farm Insurance Agents. As her roommate described their jobs, it began to sound very interesting to Sandy. She was a marketing major and needed a finance class to satisfy the requirements for her major, so she took an insurance course and found she had a natural aptitude for the industry. Shortly after graduating from college, she took an interim sales job in the Northeastern Ohio area, discovered it wasn't to her liking, and contacted her college roommate again. She gave her a manager's name and she contacted him about the possibility of becoming a State Farm Agent. He had an opportunity for her in Strongsville, so she started her agency from scratch in a one room office with no staff in 1986. She's expanded her office five times, and has been in her new location by Goldie's Deli in Crossroads Market Plaza since 1999.
