Approved Plumbing Co. was founded by William Schlekie in 1940, and his son Dennis began to work with him at fourteen years of age. After attending Cleveland State, Dennis and a partner opened and operated their own cabinet shop. They began to install kitchens, and Dennis' father handled their plumbing needs. As time passed, the partnership dissolved and Dennis found himself doing more and more plumbing work rather than cabinetry. When William passed away unexpectedly in 1977, Dennis became the owner of Approving Plumbing Co. where he's guided the company as it evolved into a full-service operation with an enviable reputation for quality. We visited with Dennis recently, and listened as he spoke of his company's offerings, dedication to customer service, and community involvement;

Approving Plumbing Co. is a full-service plumbing company specializing in all types of residential, commercial, and light industrial plumbing sales and repair, installation, and service. We install and replace water lines, gas lines, hot water heaters, and whirlpools, garbage disposal's ind addition to full bathroom remodeling. We perform sewer and drain cleaning, and can handle everything from changing a faucet washer to boring a water line across a road. We're fully licensed and DOT certified for gas installations, and we have a full line of equipment ranging from mini-excavators to jetting equipment and cable machines.

We're very proud of the consistency of our service. Although we're a small company, my secretary has been here for 12 years, and several of our plumbers have a combined experience of 83 years. Our steady supply of repeat business is the result of our dedication to providing excellent customer service. Our plumbers wear shoe coverings when they enter your home, our trucks are well maintained, and each of our staff members is mannerly, polite, and pleasant. Our plumbers strive to make sure that not only do our customers expect the best from us, we ensure they get it.

Approving Plumbing Co. is licensed, bonded, and insured to work in approximately thirty of Cleveland's suburbs. We're one of only three contractors in Ohio who are active in the Quality Service Contractors organization. This involvement enables us to remain three to five years ahead of everybody else in the industry when it comes to learning about new products, new equipment, and new ways to do business.

Due to customer demand, our business has grown into a 4,000 square foot building in Broadview Heights. Our plumbers all take an immense amount of pride in their work, and we strive to keep our customers happy with the work we've done. We're active members in the Broadview Heights community, and have worked for the City of Broadview Heights Recreation Department, in addition to our volunteer work for the Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School. I belong to the local Lion's Club and help with the Haunted House in Broadview Heights.

We're a member of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC)and the Cleveland Master Plumber's League (CMPL) and I've served as Past President for both. We're a member in good standing of the Better Business Bureau, and we've been a Super Service Award Winner with Angie's list for the last six years in a row.
