While attending medical school, Carl Asseff, M.D. chose Ophthalmology as his area of specialty. He performed an internship and a three year residency in ophthalmology, and he was awarded a two year National Institute of Health Fellowship in Glaucoma. Dr. Asseff has been serving the greater Cleveland area for over two generations, and opened his Independence office in July 2004. Through thorough eye exams of children and adults we seek to discover latent diseases that may be treated by us or through referral to a medical specialist. I perform surgery for Cataracts, Glaucoma, tumors of the eye, and eyelid surgery. I operate at Marymount Surgery Center, St. Vincent's Charity Hospital, and also in Independence at the Independence Surgery Center in the Rockside Medical Building.

When not in my office serving patients locally, I'm the Deputy Force Surgeon for the United States Sixth Fleet out of the Mediterranean where I perform European service several times a year. This serves you in a different way.
